The 3rd year of the opera festival „Jakub Pustina and his guests“will take place
in September (from 7.9 to 19.9.2008). This festival gives the opportunity to the
young opera singers from all over the world to perform in front of the wide
Czech audience especially in “Vysocina” region.
Very admirable opera singers were the guests of the festival and performed
together with Jakub Pustina during last three years:
September 2006, Lithuanian soprano Jekaterina Tretjakova
March 2007, Slovakian mezzo-soprano Linda
September 2007, Japanese soprano Rena Fujii
March 2008 Czech bass Jan Stava
This year invitation to perform together with Jakub Pustina has been accepted by
Polish soprano Katarzyna Mackiewicz. Traditionally, Richard Pohl will be the
pianist.
The polish soprano Katarzyna Mackiewicz sings from age 8. She graduated from
High School Music (Wroclaw), Academy of Music (Poznan) and Academy for young
Opera Singers. Nowadays, she is a student of The State Conservatory of N.rinsky-
Korsakow in Sankt Peterburg. She is laureate of many international competitions
such as: International vocal competition of A.Kucigins (Lithuania), Polish vocal
competition (Poland), International vocal competition of Imrich Godina ( Vrable,
Slovakia) and International vocal competition Zdar nad Sazavou ( Czech
republic). She has got a lot of scholarships such as: scholarship of Prezident
of Town Wroclaw or scholarship given by Polish ministry of Culture. Katarzyna
made a lot of concerts and participated in many International festivals in
Poland, Austria and Russia. She performes repertoire of Opera and Operetta.
